こんにちは！Team WADA学生インターンに先月から参加させていただいた、ミッドウエスタン大学獣医学部３年のひなこです！

７月平均気温40℃、砂漠のアリゾナ州より、先日行われた第４回 Team WADA-JABSOM PBL Program (a.k.a Clinical Dojo)についてお送りします！

今月の会は、ハワイ大学のAmandaによる症例提示を英語で議論しました。形式はハワイ大学で実際に使れているもので、Fact, Hypothesis, Histories, その他、最終的な診断に必要な情報についてみんなで話し合いました。このプログラムの良い所は、通常では共に勉強する事はないであろう別々の医学部、別の国の医学部、獣医学部(他の学部の皆さんの参加もお待ちしています!) の参加者が同じフィールドで知識を出し合い勉強する貴重な経験ができるという所です。私自身今回が二度目の参加で、楽しみの他、一人だけ分からなくて全く発言できなかったらどうしよう、と少し不安も入り混じった状態で参加しましたが、始まると同時にそんな不安もすぐに吹き飛びました。Clinical 道場では名前の通り、一人一人が自分の今持っている知識を出し合い、共に練習をする場所なので、それぞれの発言に間違いなど一つもありません。と言う事でClinical Dojoでは自称白帯さんから黒帯さん、先ずは見学だけしたい方など、皆さんの参加を心待ちしています！Practice makes perfect !

Hi there ! I’m Hinako from Arizona Midwestern University College of Veterinary Medicine and a student intern at Team WADA. Today, I will be writing about our awesome program, Clinical Dojo ! Now, you are probably wondering.. “What do you do at Clinical Dojo?”  Once a month, we hold a zoom meeting, and everyone who joins us has a chance to experience and practice Problem-Based Learning (PBL) regarding medical cases in English.

The greatest thing about this program is that it creates a unique place for students from different healthcare fields, including medical students, veterinary students, and many more from all over the world to study and discuss together. Everyone is friendly, and I can assure you that you will feel comfortable sharing your opinion and knowledge. You are also welcome to join us if you want to just stop by and listen to us discuss!  We decided to use the term “dojo” because it is a place for practicing. It is a place to practice listening, comprehending, thinking, and talking, just as a “dojo” is a place to practice all kinds of techniques. We are all excited to meet you and work with you soon 😉
