まだ時間は少しありますが、2021年７月以降のアメリカでのポジション獲得のため情報収集・施設見学などと併せて自分のCV(履歴書)をupdateしたので表題の通り少し履歴書について触れたいと思います。

これまたこれが正解なんて言うつもりはありませんが、参考になればと思い書いていきます。

まずCVの前に”Cover Letter”をつけるようにしましょう！これには

①簡単な自己紹介及びどの職種を求めてこれを書いているかを端的に書きましょう。

②また知っている範囲で応募要件を満たしていること

③自分のこれまでの経験の要約

④締めの挨拶とやる気を見せるコメントなどなど　

これら全部でWord１枚に収まるくらい簡潔な方が良いと思われます。

出だしに　Dear “窓口となる採用担当者” と書くか誰に宛てて良いかわからない場合は “To Whom It May Concern”

と書きましょう。出来るだけ名指しの方が良いと思われます。

今回自分が書いたものには①〜③が混ざって段落分けしちゃっていますが、最初の段落は例えば

 “I am writing to you to seek an attending surgeon/ clinical instructor/ clinical fellow position in identifying practice opportunities in pediatric cardiac surgery where I would be able to get further training including neonatal, infant, transplant and adult congenital cardiac surgery. “

などとどんな目的でどんな職種を求めているかを書き。

続けて

“I am a board certified cardiovascular surgeon by The Japanese Board of Cardiovascular Surgery and will complete my 2-year pediatric cardiac surgery fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in June 2021. I have been dedicating my total 5-year experience in pediatric cardiac surgery; 2-year Clinical Fellowship at MUSC, 2-year Clinical & Research Fellowship in Japan, 1-year Clinical Residency in Japan. 

I believe that my experience is pertinent to that position, and I have enclosed my curriculum vitae for your deliberation. “

と大事な情報の

・日本で心臓血管外科専門医であること

・今のposition(アメリカでtrainingしているよアピール)

・小児心臓外科のpositionを探しているので小児の経験がどれくらいあるか記載しました。

２段落目にはちゃんと募集要件（経験や資格）を満たしているよ〜とアピります

 During my internship/ residency in Japan, I have thoroughly enjoyed the excitement of 

Cardiothoracic surgery. After a 2-year internship program (general surgery, anesthesiology, emergency medicine, internal medicine), I entered the integrated cardiac surgery residency program at Jikei University in Japan, a 4-year program covering general surgery and adult/pediatric cardiac surgery. Followed by a 2-year clinical & research fellowship in pediatric cardiac surgery, where I obtained the certification by The Japanese Board of Cardiovascular Surgery upon completion. I simultaneously received my ECFMG certification and USMLE step3 certificate before I leaving Japan. 

この中には

・日本でのinternship(初期研修)で幅広く医学を学び(generalに)

・residency（後期研修）で小児だけじゃなくて成人心臓外科も学びましたよ（このアピール割とアメリカだと大事な気がします）

・また日本で小児の心臓外科のFellowshipもやり臨床だけじゃなくて研究活動もしていましたよ〜と（大学病院に就活するんだとやはりresearch activityがあった方が良い気がします。自分自身もっと研究もやりたいなという気持ちも込めて）

・資格があるECFMG certificationはもちろんUSMLE step3までpassしてますよ
